Viva las divas – Kitsch Cabaret -esityksen kiertuemanageri Walt Utz avautuu elämästään ja työstään Savoy-teatterin blogille.
My name is Walt Utz, and I’m a London based entrepreneur in the Burlesque, Cabaret and Drag Scene and part of the production team of Viva las divas – Kitsch Cabaret.
It gives me great pleasure to have the opportunity to bring the Infamous Kitsch Cabaret to Finland for its World Premier outside London, after running at the world famous Madame JoJo’s for 20 years.
I have had the honour of working at Madame JoJo’s for six years producing its glamorous shows, after 5 years at the legendary (Paul Raymond’s) Soho Revue Bar. During these years Madame JoJo’s was the spiritual home of London’s burlesque and cabaret scene and haven to the drag community.
This colourful community created buzzing shows for cabaret hungry audiences and packed the club on a nightly basis.
It was such an inspirational time and out of the small stage of Madame JoJo’s evolved a touring Burlesque spectacular Evening Of Burlesque which toured Europe for 5 years and resided at the Savoy Theatre, Helsinki last year to great success.
The show was well received with the Finnish Audiences and I immediately knew that Kitsch Cabaret will be the next fun show to bring over to London for the Savoy.
We are bringing London’s top female impersonators, some mysterious, some funny, all stunningly beautiful and super talented.
We are going to re-create the buzz of an intimate cabaret club and you will be enjoying music from all eras, that will hopefully get you to sing and dance throughout the show.
All performers are legends in London for many reasons and on the 26th, 27th and 28th, you will find out why. We look forward to seeing you all there.
